My Piracy Methodology

To begin, I have no moral issue with piracy. If buying isn't owning, then piracy isn't theft. When you buy a film on a streaming service you are not owning it digitally, you are simply buying to be able to access a file uploaded on a server somewhere. Time and time again we have seen people who have purchased a film to own it loose access because of petty right disputes or something of that nature. There is no legal way to purchase a actual digital copy of a film. I do not want to subscribe to some service that has barely any films I want that streams them in shitty quality and removes films constantly while shoving ads down my throat despite the fact that I pay money to avoid that very thing. The state of the streaming industry is completely broken and unuseable from a consumer standpoint. This is why I "pirate". However, when many think of piracy they think of some super technologically inclined individual using VPNs and torrent clients with access to private trackers and all that jazz. I do not have any of that. I do not even use exclusive piracy websites. I download all of my films off of commerical, easily accessable video hosting clients like YouTube, Dailymotion, ok.ru, and vk.com. The later of the two usually bring me the most luck, espically VK as of late. Even brand new films are uploaded on there within the week of them showing up on trackers. Doing this is much safer as not only is there no way to trace a download back to you as you are not seeding with your IP like with a torrent, but you aren't even facing the risks of malware like with a sketchy direct download site. To download I use yt-dlp, which is really a miracle software that has way more supported sites than you could ever imagine. After I have the files I use Plex to stream them from my laptop to my television and do so with a very professional and clean looking interface that is accessed directly through an app on my Roku. To the uninitiated it all seems completely above board. Opening a streaming app and accessing the films on said app. It seems as if I am just ordinary schmuck paying 25 bucks a month or whatever for some bullshit service no one has ever heard of. In reality, no money ever leaves my bank account. It's a beautiful system I have and one that I think more people would partake in if capitalist society hadn't demonized the very concept of piracy to make seem like something you have to be very dedicated to do. It is so effortless. Perhaps not as effortless as letting Ted Sarandos ruthlessly drain your bank account while you consume the unartistic drivel his souless corporation churns out every year, but it is still remarkably easy.
